Premier Barcode System Setting the new standard for an affordable, simple system to be used for shop floor data collection, job tracking, and employee productivity.
Does your business need The Premier Barcode System? Premier is one of the few completely integrated data collection systems available to the industry. printLEADER has been a leading developer of management software to the industry since 1988. Whether you own or manage a quick print/copy center, or small commercial business or inplant, the Premier system will fit your needs and especially your budget.
By entering your own production rates for press impressions per hour, make-ready and set-up times, job difficulty, clicks per hour on copiers, units per hour in prepress, bindery and finishing Premier will provide you with instant access to your estimated times versus your actual times collected on the shop floor.
In addition, you will also have the ability to look at the status of an order, on your computer and see who is currently working on it, without having to leave your desk. Think of the amount of time you will save by not having to get on the intercom, or run around the shop and hunt down your best customer's letterhead, while they're on hold. Within a few seconds you'll be able to provide them with an intelligent, accurate answer of when you will make delivery. A job tracking report can be printed at any time for just one order, or for the entire shop, to help you better manage your business.
Premier will eliminate the guesswork of overpromising new work, and tell you how much time is booked per piece of equipment in all of your production areas.
How does The Premier Bar Code System work? The Premier software module is a completely integrated program designed and developed by the makers of printLEADER.
Premier works transparently in the background of printLEADER during day to day operations.
Premier produces custom generated bar codes that are printed on the job ticket itself. Every press, every copier, and every pre-press or post-press operation that is required, will have it's own respective bar code right on the work order for fast and easy scanning.
What is the difference between "Premier" and "Premier Lite"? The standard Premier system includes the Premier software, and (3) three heavy duty wireless bar code readers and (3) three docking stations. The readers are used by any and all production employees. Whenever a task is started, the employee scans their name, the printLEADER work order bar code, the function they will be working on, and the action they will take (are they starting a job, taking a break, are they finished?). The total time it takes to scan this information is 3-4 seconds!
There are no keyboards, nor does the employee have to walk over to a fixed computer workstation and physicaly type in their information, leaving room for errors, and the loss of valuable production time. Needless to say, if your current method of data co llection is manual, Premier eliminates the need for employees to fill in the "blanks", and provides you with honest accurate numbers.
The wireless bar code readers can be shared by as many employees as you feel practical. The wireless readers and docking stations are very versatile. You can have as many readers and docking stations linked throughout your shop as you need. The docking stations are daisy chained and connected with simple phone cable and RJ-11 connectors (installation and cable not included, 100 feet maximum between docking stations).
Once the employee completes the scanning, they can pass the reader to another employee, or simply download the information to it's docking station. The information is then processed by Premier and passed immediately into the printLEADER databases for in stant lookup of job status and time collected.
The Premier "Lite" system also includes the Premier software, but only one bar code scanner which is connected to a computer workstation's keyboard. This product has been designed for the smaller shop with fewer employees. The only difference with the bar code scanner, is that it is not wireless, and your production staff would simply use the scanner at a central area to scan their job tickets. The information is processed the same as Premier.
